47th District Court

The 47th Judicial District Court is a limited jurisdiction court serving the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills. The Court has jurisdiction over criminal misdemeanors, civil cases in which the amount in dispute is $25,000 or less, parking violations, traffic violations and other civil infractions, landlord-tenant disputes, and small claims matters. In addition, the Court has initial jurisdiction on criminal felony cases for the purpose of determining probable cause.

Important Notice Regarding Felony Transcripts: This notice serves as a reminder that MCR 6.110(G) and MCR 8.119(H)(10) were recently amended by the Michigan Supreme Court to make a district court case immediately nonpublic at bind­over. If you require a transcript on a case that was bound over to the Sixth Circuit Court after July 2, 2024, you must contact the Oakland County Clerk at courtexplorer@oakgov.com. The Clerk’s Office will process the request and forward it to the appropriate court reporter or official to prepare the transcript.
