Farmington Hills Mayor Launches Community Engagement Opportunity

Farmington Hills Mayor Theresa Rich kicks-off new conversation series, “Walk The Hawk,” on Sept. 17, increasing accessibility and fostering community dialogues

City of Farmington Hills Mayor Theresa Rich is excited to announce a new event aimed at fostering meaningful civic engagement within the Farmington Hills community. Residents are invited to participate in “Walk The Hawk with the Mayor” starting in September. This new opportunity is designed to facilitate direct interaction and dialogue with Mayor Rich.

“Walking side by side at The Hawk with members of our community is a great opportunity for collaboration, sharing ideas and concerns, and working together to make Farmington Hills an even more vibrant community,” said Mayor Theresa Rich. “I look forward to making meaningful connections and having important conversations about the issues that matter most to community members.”

Walks with the mayor will be held at The Hawk, the City’s award-winning recreation and performance venue, located at 29995 W. Twelve Mile Rd. The walks are free and open to the public. No registration is required.

The first walk will be held at 12 p.m. on Sept. 17, with other walks once per month on a Tuesday at noon. Walks are currently planned on Oct. 15 and Nov. 12. Community members should plan to meet the mayor outside on The Hawk track, or on the third floor of The Hawk during inclement weather. The scheduled walks will allow residents to exercise while engaging in conversations with Mayor Rich in an informal setting.

Mayor Rich is committed to creating avenues for residents to actively participate in shaping the future of Farmington Hills. This initiative underscores the importance of community involvement and collaboration in driving positive change. Residents do not need to be passholders at The Hawk to access the public spaces where the walks will be held.
