Community members seeking notary services can visit the City Clerk’s Office inside City Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m.
 
Notary services will be provided pursuant to the laws of the State of Michigan. Notaries acting on the behalf of the City shall:

  • Only notarize documents written in English, or with the English translation attached.
  • Notarize completed documents, which shall not contain blanks.
  • Confirm the identity of all individuals requesting notary service against a government-issued photo identification. If more than one signer, they must all appear in person.
  • Not notarize trusts, wills or power of attorney.
  • Not notarize documents that a minor child must sign.
  • Not perform a notarial act electronically.

Notary fees are $1.00 per signature. The City Clerk’s Office reserves the right to refuse to notarize any document.
