Fence Permit Process
Residential and Commercial fence permits can be applied for online through “BS&A Online Permit Applications” green button link below. Please submit a completed application along with the proposed plan or marked-up property/mortgage survey. You may use the “create a plot plan” tool on the city’s website to assist in the creation of a plan that shows the property lines and the proposed fence location(s).
PLEASE NOTE: The City of Farmington Hills does not require Homeowner’s Association Approval from the governing HOA prior to issuing residential permits. It is the responsibility of the Permit Applicant and Property Owner to obtain all necessary approvals from the governing HOA prior to any construction taking place. The City of Farmington Hills will not issue permit refunds for permits reviewed, issued, and then cancelled due to HOA requirements.
