City of Farmington Hills to Host 18th Annual “Great Farmington Hills Campout” at Heritage Park June 1-2
For one night only, Heritage Park will transform into a family-friendly campground, complete with immersive outdoor activities, a cookout and the City’s biggest campfire.
WHAT: The City of Farmington Hills will transform Heritage Park into a bustling campground, giving families the chance to experience the joys of camping during the 18th Annual “Great Farmington Hills Campout” at Heritage Park. Families will have the chance to participate in outdoor activities to entertain and educate campers of all ages about the wonders of the great outdoors, including tours of the Farmington Hills Nature Center, a guided sunset hike through Heritage Park and more. After a day of adventure, gather around the City’s largest campfire to toast marshmallows and share stories under the stars.
The event offers families the chance to try camping in a safe and fun environment, without the hassle or expense of a road trip. Each campsite is $35 for Farmington Hills/Farmington residents, or $40 for community members from other cities, and includes:
- A hot dog dinner and pancake breakfast for up to six campers, with additional concessions available for purchase,
- entry for the Great Campout raffle for a chance to win prizes sponsored by Dick’s Sporting Goods,
- one official Great Campout souvenir shirt and mug,
- activities for the whole family.
Reserve a campsite here through May 30. One tent is allowed per campsite, with a maximum of six campers per site.
WHO: The City of Farmington Hills Special Services Department Recreation Division invites community members to try overnight camping in the heart of Heritage Park.
WHEN: Arrive any time after 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 to pitch a tent, set up camp and get
in on the special camp-themed activities. Pack up the gear and head home after breakfast on Sunday, June 2.
