The Hawk Makerspace to Celebrate 2nd Anniversary with Free Open House on Friday, Sept. 13

The event will give community members a chance to explore the shared studio, including live demonstrations, discounts, giveaways and refreshments

 

WHO:            Creative community members from across metro Detroit are invited to check out The Hawk Makerspace, an immersive shared technical and creative studio, at a free open house. Prospective makers range from absolute beginners to experts of any age, interest or skill level, including hobbyists, crafters, entrepreneurs and more.

 

WHAT:          In celebration of two years of creativity and community, The Hawk Makerspace will host a free open house. The event will allow community members to experience everything The Hawk Makerspace has to offer before signing up for a class, workshop or deciding to become a Passholder. 

The open house will feature live demonstrations of the shared studio’s professional-grade equipment in its woodshop and craft lab, including CNC router, embroidery machine, 3D printer, laser engravers and more. There will also be giveaways, refreshments and discounts on Passholder subscriptions.

Located in The Hawk, the City of Farmington Hills’ award-winning recreation and arts venue, The Hawk Makerspace is a shared studio designed to empower makers of any skill-level or age, through providing access to a high-quality technical and artistic space, including highly skilled instructors. The Hawk Makerspace offers one-day workshops, giving creatives a sample of the full experience, as well as six and 12-week classes that allow makers to fully immerse themselves in a new skill or solidify an old hobby. Programs are available to makers of different ages and interests, catering to absolute beginners and experts, including hobbyists, crafters, entrepreneurs and more.
