Automotive Mechanic II
Job Description
Works as a mechanic maintaining and repairing a wide variety of City-owned and operated vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and servicing drive-train systems, diesel and gas fuel systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and computer control systems. Repairs may also require welding, fabricating, and wiring. Performs preventative maintenance work such as oil changes, lubrication and replacement of spark plugs, filters, air pollution equipment, tires, brakes, tune-ups, emission systems, wiring, and replacing hoses (hydraulic and water).
